Map and Atlas Museum of La Jolla

This is, I believe, some guy's private map collection, but it's on display for free! It's only open 10 days per month: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and First and Third Saturdays, from 11am-4pm. It's pretty small, but there aren't many map and atlas museums around, and this one is pretty well-done, in my opinion. My favorite part was a section on how some people thought California was an island (and even once they found out it wasn't they still tried to convince others that it was). The oldest map was from 1491, and they had some fun pictographs (I think that's what they called them) of California.
